Interactive fiber arts fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Farm And Ranch Museum in Gering.

Co-sponsored by Brown Sheep Co. and Barn Anew Bed & Breakfast, the first Scotts Bluff Valley Fiber Arts Fair will connect the community with activities such as educational demonstrations, hands-on projects for children and adults, sale of local/regional artists work and fiber art supplies, and information about local fiber activities, groups, businesses and related resources.

Organizer Donna Thompson said exhibitors would be coming from Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota.

The event is more than just a series of demonstrations and vendor booths, but a chance for participants to see the process from start to finish.

Participants will trace the steps that fiber goes through from the animal all the way through the dyeing and distribution process.

Demonstrators will be on hand to inspire people to try different types of fiber arts.

Persons wanting more information can contact Thompson or Peggy Wells at Brown Sheep Co. at (308) 635-2198.
