She’s been cooking since she was 12 years old and loves feeding people.

Brenda Robb found her niche in cooking long ago and now she finally has her own restaurant to serve the public.

Robb and her twin sister Linda Stemple are co-owners of Twin Ducks Diner, Hemingford’s newest business.

Located at 404 Niobrara, the restaurant – formerly Mr. D’s Diner – opened for business Sept. 12 and Robb says business has been exciting.

So why the name Twin Ducks Diner? Robb explains that Duck was her mother Doris’ nickname ever since she was three years old. Since it was her late mother that had her cooking so early in life the name could be considered a tribute to her mother, Duck.

Robb, who has lived in Hemingford for 13 years, previously worked at Carol’s Café in Hemingford  – a business that many locals will remember as  it was here for over 20 years.

People dining at Twin Ducks Diner can expect some good old fashioned home cooking.

“We try to make everything as homemade as possible,” Robb said.

Be sure to stop in Twin Ducks Diner if you haven’t already. The duo says they plan to have a skillet challenge for people to attempt in the future.

Twin Ducks Diner may be reached at 487-3366.
