The Nebraska State Patrol and Scottsbluff Rural Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident Monday morning that sent the driver of this red Chevy Blazer to Regional West Medical Center. Opal Shaupp of Morrill was transported by Valley Ambulance to the hospital following a collision west of Scottsbluff with Rodney Cape, of Bridgeport. Both Shaupp and Cape were westbound on Highway 26 and as Cape was slowing to turn into the Animal Health Center parking lot Shaupp struck the left rear bumbper of Cape’s vehicle. NSP Lieutenant Mike Gaudreault said the accident was still under investigation but that inattentiveness might have led to the accident. At 10 a.m. Shaupp was listed in good condition at RWMC.
