Scottsbluff Public Schools will continue their existing school lunch program despite an influx of national school districts opting out of the federally funded program.
As part of a nationwide $11 billion National School Lunch Program initiative to improve school lunches, the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act was introduced and adopted into law in 2012 with First Lady Michelle Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack spearheading the program.
