Historic downtown Scottsbluff building renovation progresses

There are once again signs of life at the 1920s-era Chiakos Brothers Building at 1410 Broadway, at the south entrance to downtown Scottsbluff.

Last week, workers from Ybarra Construction broke out brick and cinderblock that had enclosed the display windows of the historic building. Building restoration and design director Jason Frank, son of owner Roger Frank, said that the removed material was not original to the building and had likely been added in the 1970s.
