Investigators hope to find whoever mutilated a stray dog over the weekend.

On Tuesday, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman said the responding deputy and two investigators are actively working the case involving the death of Ike, a 3-year-old German Shepard. The owners of the dog, Sharon Henderson and Chris Henderson, had to have him euthanized Saturday after the dog came crawling home with serious injuries. The dog has been described as “basically filleted” with injuries from his chest to his genitals.
