A Kimball County District Court jury deliberated for about six hours before returning a guilty verdict on a charge of first-degree murder against a former Cheyenne, Wyo., man.

Vencil Ash III, 41, and his girlfriend, Kelly Meehan, were charged in April 2010 in the death of 30-year-old Ryan Guitron. Authorities had long suspected Vencil Ash had killed the man after the Ft. Collins, Colo., man disappeared in November 2003. However, authorities didn’t get a break in the case until April 2, 2010, when Kelly Meehan provided police information on the murder. Ash had been arrested after a five-hour standoff with police in Cheyenne, Wyo., after police were called to a domestic assault.
