“May you pass through the gates of heaven knowing you had a lifetime of blessings,” Amanda Baker once wrote in a poem. Her pastor, Jake Roberts, read the poem, “Lifetime of Blessings,” at the slain corrections officer’s funeral Saturday.

Officers from more than a dozen law enforcement and corrections departments came together Saturday to join family and friends of Baker, who died Sunday, Feb. 16. The woman died after being strangled by a juvenile inmate at the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center on Feb. 14.
