As colder temperatures crept into the Panhandle on Saturday, the warnings of blizzard conditions came with them as residents and road crews prepared for a hazardous weather weekend.
According to Saturday reports by the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Wyo., the hazardous weather outlook for the Nebraska Panhandle predicted snow accumulation of up to six to 10 inches Saturday night into Sunday morning with north to northeast wind gusts as high as 50 miles per hour. A blizzard warning was also in place from 5 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday with winds continuing through the evening.
