SCOTTSBLUFF — The WyoBraska GIVES is powered by The Oregon Trail Community Foundation, with special thanks and gratitude to the title sponsor: The Holliday Family of Companies.

Oregon Trail Community Foundation (OTCF) has been busy collecting data and feedback in its effort to plan its next WyoBraska Gives Date. Due to research efforts, the organization is excited to announce that WyoBraska Gives will be moving its Giving Day to May 5, 2020.

Why May? Through research, OTCF have found that other successful Giving Days not only across Nebraska, but nationwide experience more opportunities to acquire donations during this month. The organization has found that November is the time where non-traditional donors are saving for the holidays and feels it is important to solicit donations at a time where personal funds can be more readily available for donations. Because the organization is targeting private donors, this is a time when tax returns can be an additional source of income. The organization also found that November was also a time in which several participating nonprofit organizations are already hosting fundraising events and annual membership campaigns.

The goal with WyoBraska Gives is to enhance and compliment current fundraising schedules, not to compete with it.

OTCF will be gearing up for this event at the beginning of the year 2020. OTCF is excited to offer the “Treasure Your Community” Treasure Hunt once again, which is the official kick-off to the WyoBraska GIVES season.
