Authorities with three agencies are searching for a juvenile inmate who escaped from a private transport company.

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman confirmed that officers with the Mitchell Police Department, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office are looking for the inmate, who escaped after being allowed to use a bathroom alone and unrestrained at a Mitchell convenience store. The juvenile had been traveling with a private transport company.

According to scanner traffic, the juvenile had been wearing a grey shirt and sweats, however, an additional description was not yet available. The juvenile's identity has also not been released. An exact time is not known, but scanner traffic indicates the escape happened between 11 a.m. and noon.
