A California man died in a crash south of Lusk, Wyoming, Wednesday.

The Wyoming State Patrol released Friday that Adam R. Castillo, of San Francisco, California, died of injuries he suffered in a crash at milepost 138 on U.S. Highway 85 at about 8:19 a.m.

Adam Castillo has been the passenger in a 2018 Nissan Sentra driven by 29-year-old Merced, California resident Ezquiel C. Castillo. Ezequiel Castillo had been traveling north on highway 85 when he failed to negotiate a slight curve to the right and crossed over the center lane. Ezequiel Castillo’s vehicle entered the southbound lane and collided with a 2016 Peterbilt 379, driven by 63-year-old Torrington, Wyoming resident Martin J. Reed.

A passenger in Ezequiel Castillo’s vehicle, identified as 35-year-old Modesto, California resident Christopher E. Rodriguez, was transported to the Niobrara Community Hospital for injuries he sustained at the scene of the crash. He was wearing a seat belt.

Reed was wearing his seat belt and not injured in the crash.

Driver fatigue on the part of Castillo is being investigated as a contributing factor.
