A Colorado man arrested in a late December prostitution sting in Scottsbluff has been sentenced to time served.
Scotts Bluff County Judge James Worden sentenced Alfredo Castro, 47, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Thursday to seven days in county jail on a charge of soliciting prostitution, a Class I misdemeanor.
Castro was one of four men who responded to an online advertisement and exchanged text messages with investigators of the Panhandle Regional Team of the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force during an enforcement initiative on Dec. 30, 2017.
According to an arrest affidavit, Castro replied to an advertisement regarding a female “looking to ‘play.’” During a text message conversation, in which Castro identified himself as “al,” Castro allegedly agreed to pay $80 for a woman to perform oral sex on him and have sexual intercourse with him for a period of four hours. Castro was arrested after he arrived at an arranged location and knocked on the door. He was interviewed at the Nebraska State Patrol.
Castro was also sentenced to pay a $750 fine, which includes court costs.
Cases against the other three men are pending.
