A 33-year-old woman has been hospitalized and is listed in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle as she walked on a Scottsbluff roadway early Sunday.

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman said Specialee Gonzales suffered injuries in a collision that occurred on 21st Avenue, south of South Beltline Highway, about 2:15 a.m.

An investigation found that Gonzales had been walking along the shoulder and stepped into the lane of traffic. The woman was struck by Ethan Allen, 28, of Mitchell, who was driving a Dodge Durango in the southbound lane of 21st Avenue.

Valley Ambulance transported Gonzales. Gering Police, Scottsbluff Police and Gering Fire also responded.

Overman said no arrests were made or citations issued.
