SCOTTSBLUFF — Scottsbluff Police are seeking assistance from the public as it investigates a hit-and-run collision that resulted in a disruption of power in north Scottsbluff.

Police responded at about 4:30 a.m. to 1215 W. 36th Street. As part of the investigation, police obtained video surveillance which showed an unknown semi-truck, possibly hauling a grain trailer, attempt to turn around in the lot. Tire evidence at the scene indicates that the driver of the semi backed the trailer into a power pole, shearing off the pole and disconnecting power to businesses in the area. The driver then backed into storage unites located at the scene, causing significant damage to the building and contents.

Police Capt. Tony Straub indicated that damages are estimated to be in excess of $25,000.
