SCOTTSBLUFF — Police investigated a two-vehicle collision that occurred at South Beltline Highway and Avenue B on Friday.

At approximately 12:34 p.m., Scottsbluff Police responded to the intersection in reference to an injury accident. The investigation found that a 2005 Buick LeSabre, driven by Ronald Eskam, 84, of Scottsbluff, was southbound on Avenue B. Eskam stopped at the posted stop sign at the intersection and then entered the intersection, allegedly failing to yield to an eastbound 2000 Kenworth semi-truck, driven by Javier Rios, 27, of Gering.

The Buick and Kenworth struck in the middle of the intersection.  One passenger from the Buick was transferred to Regional West Medical Center with minor injuries.

The Buick was a total loss and the Kenworth sustained an estimated $2,000 in damages.  Eskam was issued a citation for failure to yield.

The Scottsbluff Fire Department and Valley Ambulance also responded to the accident.
