To the Editor:

The Legacy of the Plains Museum is a wonderful museum but it is no place for a grave. If Nebraska can no longer guarantee a dignified resting place by the Trail where Rebecca Winters died and was buried, then her descendants, and perhaps the LDS Church, should be prevailed upon to ensure she completes her journey to her Zion in the Rocky Mountains of Utah. She should be laid to rest in a real cemetery where no one, no committee or group, can determine to disturb her again.

This story deeply saddens me. Rebecca Winters is no museum piece. Her loved ones entrusted her to God and the Mormon Trail. This last move needs to place her with those loved ones.
