To the Editor:

Brad Staman is exactly right in his editorial regarding the importance of farmers and agriculture to the economy. Low crop prices, lack of water, out of control property tax rates, government spending, and bad weather can ruin a whole years work for them in a few minutes.

Remember folks, when the farmer can’t make a living, dust and tumbleweeds will blow down the streets of cities from Scottsbluff to New York and Los Angeles.
