NBA Summer League: Former Nebraska star James Palmer scores 11 in Suns' win

Former Nebraska star James Palmer scored 11 points Wednesday to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 79-78 win over the San Antonio Spurs at the NBA Summer League. Palmer shot 4 for 9 and secured the win by getting a steal with less than five seconds left in the game on the Spurs’ final possession.



Isaiah Roby, Palmer’s former Husker teammate, scored nine points and shot 4 for 4 from the field for the Dallas Mavericks in a 79-71 win over Croatia’s national team. Roby added six rebounds and hit his only 3-point attempt.

Former Bluejay Khyri Thomas also won Wednesday, helping the Detroit Pistons beat the Philadelphia 76ers 96-81. Thomas scored seven points with two assists and two steals.
