The driver of a pickup truck died on a central Nebraska road when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with another pickup pulling a flatbed trailer.

The crash occurred before 8:30 a.m. Thursday on Nebraska Highway 92, about two miles west of Merna, Custer County Sheriff Dan Osmond said Friday.

Roman Romero, 40, of New Mexico, was killed in the crash, Osmond said. The driver of the other pickup, Kevin Jensen, 49, and his passengers, his 19-year-old twin sons, Erik and Brock Jensen, all of Broken Bow, were injured and flown by medical helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. The sons were treated and released and Kevin Jensen was listed in good condition Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The Jensens were wearing seat belts, Osmond said. It wasn't clear whether Romero was wearing a seat belt.

Romero was driving a 2002 Dodge Ram half-ton pickup. An autopsy has been ordered. Kevin Jensen was driving a 2016 Ford F-350 pickup.
